Stacked Stock Non-Wing Field Features Pursley, Carber, Bright, Flud at Front

TULSA, OKLA. (January 4, 2020) – Following 37 heat races and 8 qualifiers, the humungous field 335 Stock Non-Wing entries has been cut down to the top 16 locked-in to the main event. It’s no coincidence that the largest field in Tulsa Shootout history has also provided a LOADED front two rows for the feature.

On the pole, Daison Pursley of Locust Grove, Okla. is in the midst of his hottest Shootout run ever. Driving for Randy Timms with Billy Lawhead on the wrenches, the 15-year old Toyota Racing Development Driver for Keith Kunz Motorsports has been nearly unstoppable this week in the Drive WFX No. 5P. An 8th-to-1st heat race and a 4th-to-2nd qualifier have placed Pursley at the point in his first-career main event start at the Tulsa Shootout.

To Pursley’s outside is one of Pennsylvania’s finest, Brian Carber of Pipersville. The 2018 Non-Wing World Championship winner, Carber left heat races as the early high point man with an unbeatable 9th-to-1st charge. A 4th-to-3rd qualifier solidified his spot on the outside pole aboard the Gable’s Service Center No. 41C Hyper. A hard charger at last year’s running, tonight’s SNW main event offers a real chance at Carber’s first Golden Driller.

Head to row two and the talent remains stout with Alex Bright in third and Frank Flud in fourth. Bright, a former Chili Bowl preliminary winner, punched the ticket to his first-career Tulsa Shootout feature start by stealing a qualifier win from Pursley in thrilling fashion. Flud, a four-time Shootout champion, will begin the hunt for Driller #5 from the outside of row two in his Driven Midwest No. 81.

Kevin Bayer, a five-time titleist at the Shootout will share row three alongside Curtis Jones from Tulsa. Jadon Rogers of Indiana and Kyle Spence of Pennsylvania split row four, while Cannon McIntosh and Jeffrey Abbey take the green from row five.

Also earning Stock Non-Wing feature starts from locking-in is Cody Price (11th), Damon Paul (12th), Tyler Walton (13th), Laydon Pearson (14th), Kole Kirkman (15th) and Caleb Martin (16th).
