– Daison Pursley’s long-awaited chance at a full USAC National Midget slate finally comes to fruition tonight, as the 15-year old Locust Grove, Okla. native begins his rookie season with the series tonight at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida.

After spending all of 2019 in the POWRi National Midget League and sitting out of Chili Bowl due to his age, Pursley has been chomping at the bit for a shot at the big leagues of USAC Racing. Tonight, he sees that dream come to life, when he runs race one of 39 this year aboard the Craftsman Tools, Toyota powered Bullet-by-Spike No. 9 entry for perennial powerhouse Keith Kunz Curb/Agajanian Motorsports.

“Sitting out at Chili Bowl really lit a fire under me, so I’ve been waiting for this moment for weeks now,” said Pursley. “I had a few laps here in the micro last year, but practice last night is what really helped me getting accustomed to the track. This place is so unique, I feel like we don’t go anywhere else like it, so you really have to be on top of your game come race time. I’m just thankful for this opportunity to race with KKM and Toyota; hopefully we can build on our success at the end of last year and carry it over.”

Back in the seat for the first time in over a month, Pursley last went racing at the 35th annual Tulsa Shootout; where the Oklahoma shoe opened eyes and dropped jaws with several stellar performances that included a Stock Non-Wing podium and a top five in Outlaw Non-Wing out of 300+ competitors. This weekend, however, the focus is all back to midget racing.

Contesting the #WinterDirtGames, Pursley will battle the stars and cars of the USAC National Midget Series tonight and tomorrow, February 7-8 at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida. If you can’t make it, you can watch all the action LIVE on http://www.floracing.com.
